How the Ultra HNIs Spend

The average age of the Indian ultra HNI population has been decreasing- most of them are less than 40 years old. This fall in average age has been aided by an increasing number of start-ups. Moreover, good performance of the Indian economy is reflected in the rising ultra HNI spends this year.

These younger ultra HNIs, with high disposable incomes, are also the ones who are largely responsible for bringing in concepts such as 'experimental luxury' into the limelight.

Luxury retailers have recognised this opportunity, and are already aiming to capture the mind space of these young guns by engaging in targeted marketing. This is one of the reasons for the rapid expansion of these retailers into smaller centers to leverage on the increasing ad-hoc spends of these ultra HNIs.
